
Chautauqua Series Welcomes Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln
Mount Vernon – What better way to celebrate the upcoming President’s Day then a visit from Abraham Lincoln and his wife Mary. Abraham and Mary will be portrayed by Worthington, Ohio natives Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brugler, who physically resemble the couple and have been portraying them for the past 15 years, will treat the Chautauqua Series audience with an engaging program of first person living history.
The Chautauqua featuring Abraham and Mary Lincoln will take place at ThePlace@TheWoodward located at 111 South Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon on Thursday February 13 at 7 PM. The facility is a first floor theater and accessible to people with special needs. The program is presented on a donation basis and sponsored by Elixir, the Rolls-Royce Charities/Civic Fund and assistance from Ariel Foundation.
Opening for the program is the Chautauqua organizer, Elixir, a musical group consisting of Gerry Rensel, Chris and Mike Petee, who re-invent classic American songs as well as write music in the vein of our ancestors from Lincoln’s era.
