On Thursday, November 17, Elixir Presents in association with Ariel Foundation bring an evening with Maria von Trapp, in a living history portrayal by Amy K. Stoner. The program is a Chautauqua style presentation with question and answer period immediately at the end of Amy’s portrayal. Opening the show will be Lowell Borcher.
The Chautauqua Series is presented on a donation basis for enrichment of the community and all donations go directly to the featured and opening performers. The program will be held at ThePlace@TheWoodward (101 S. Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon) in this first floor facility that is accessible to those with special needs. Doors open at 6 PM and program starts at 7 PM.
Coming on Thursday December 8 at the Memorial Theater is the annual Chautauqua style Food For The Hungry concert, this year featuring the music of The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and Emmy Lou Harris. Donation of food and/or money will benefit the Food For The Hungry campaign.
