Mount Vernon - Born in Cadiz, Ohio in 1901 to an oil-well driller, William Clark Gable [known as Clark even in childhood], worked at B.F. Goodrich in Akron at age 17 and was bitten by the acting bug that eventually saw him go from a small time actor to THE Clark Gable we all know today. On Thursday September 10, Elixir and the Chautauqua Series and sponsored in part by a grant from the Ariel Foundation present an evening with Clark Gable as portrayed by Jim Stoner.
The event will be presented at ThePlace@TheWoodward [120 S. Main Street in historic downtown Mount Vernon] on a donation basis. Doors open at 6 Pm at the first floor theater and the program will begin at 7 PM with an old time radio show and Clark Gable will discuss his life, his triumphs and defeats and everything in-between. After the portrayal in first person living history format, the floor will be open to ask Clark any questions you may have.
