MOUNT VERNON - Most people reason his endearing role as Latka on the sitcom Taxi, some remember his Mickey Mouse routines on SNL, others might remember his performance art as a wrestler, but anyone ever exposed to the man’s work, never forgot him. The Chautauqua Series, sponsored in part by the Ariel Foundation, are happy to bring Dayne Baughman to ThePlace@TheWoodward [120 S. Main Street in downtown Mount Vernon] this coming Thursday, November 19 at 7 PM [doors open at 6 PM] and is presented on a donation basis, so you already have your tickets.
Dayne is a veteran on the Chautauqua stage, having presented characters ranging from Babe Ruth to John Belushi, Conway Twitty to Frank Lloyd Wright. This character, Andy Kaufman’s work has achieved cult status and he is respected for his original material, performance style and unflinching commitment to character. To see the over side of the man as he battled with lung cancer, the movie “Man on the Moon” is an extraordinary glimpse of the man.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: The Chautauqua Series in association with Ariel Foundation, the Knox County Commissioners and the board of Food For the Hungry are happy to announcement the annual Food For the Hungry Chautauqua style concert, featuring the folk music and early rock music of the 1960’s and will include appears by Bob Dylan with The Band, Peter, Paul & Mary, Joan Baez and Knox County’s own Kokosing River Surf Club.
